Cádiz’s airport (to look it up you
need to remember that JEREZ
is its official designation) is 15 miles from
the city but only connected to it by taxi
(or a rental car). It is almost impossible
to get to Cádiz from abroad without
a stopover at Madrid Barajas
International Airport. Ryanair
serves some European destinations through
direct flights from Cádiz, but not
always with convenient schedules. Cádiz
is well connected with Madrid by plane, bus
or railroad
(the air trip between the two cities only
takes 45 minutes; otherwise be prepared to
spend a few hours). To get to Madrid from
the US, Iberia
and American
Airlines are probably the best choice,
but not always the cheapest. If you are travelling
on a modest budget other options are surely
available through the Internet if you book
in advance. Most European companies (both
regular and low-cost) fly to Madrid. Connections
with Asia are rather limited and the best
choice here is flying British
Airways to London, from there to Madrid,
and then on to Cádiz.
